A cute bathroom for cheap!

I've lived in my house for over a year and I finally got around to decorating my main floor bathroom. It's just a half bath and it's kind of an awkward set up, so I did my best trying to make it look cute. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money, so of course, I went to Ross. Confession: Ross is my favorite store to go to when I need to decorate. It has such fun stuff to work with, and cheap. You just have to really look around, because things tend to be scattered throughout the store. I decorated my entire living room with Ross finds- and everyone asks where I got everything, Ross, I say, and no it was not that expensive...:)

These cute little boxes I actually didn't get from Ross, my sweet friend gave them to me, and they just happened to match. Love when that works out.

I found all of this at Ross. The basket, the vase and the flowers, for under 30 bucks! Score!

This darling picture was twelve bucks I believe. Did I tell you that I love Ross yet?

I am in love with this mirror, and guess what? My hubby brought it home from work about year ago, before he got his new job, and it was scratched and actually painted brown. Well, once I finished shopping at Ross, I need to find one more thing to put on the wall, and Mitch showed this to me. I had forgotten about it. But with a little touch up, and some black spray paint Voila! A darling mirror to go in my bathroom. Just had to buy some spray paint- and I had a brand new mirror, am I awesome or what?? ;)

I still need to buy a rug or something, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and my husband is pretty happy with how cheap it was. :) Happy shopping! Xoxoxox

I'm back!

Hello again. Yes, I realize that I've been MIA for a year or so..haha! Sorry about that. I actually have a good reason for my absence. I had another baby. And I get ridiculously sick when I'm pregnant. ICK! So, I just gave up on this blog for a while, but for some reason wanted to start it up again..it may be just for today, or maybe I'll keep at it. I'm not that interesting, so we'll see how this goes..Don't worry though, I'm still The Pink in my house of Blue. Yep, baby was a boy, so now I'm the only girl living with FOUR boys! AHHH! Crazy right? Yes, I will say it's much different, than I expected my life to be, but we are happy and I LOVE all my boys.

Enough chit chat- now, the reason for this post. I have recently started reading again! YAY! I just got these beautiful books in the mail the other day, and I must say, I'm loving them! I've actually read the fist two- but I have not read the last two yet. I read them a long time ago, so I started from the beginning again to refresh my memory. They are just as good as I remember- maybe ever better this time around...

Here is the blurb for the first book: Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined. Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change. But she could never have guessed the truth - that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war.

Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

These book are packed full of action, laughter, tears and just plain craziness! And a love story, that will melt your heart, and maybe break your heart, maybe freeze your heart as well. :) All thanks to the delicious ice prince, who is super mysterious, a super awesome fighter, and oh so smokin' hot! (why do I always like the bad boys?) That alone is worth the read. Hope you enjoy them!

Baked Potato Soup

Need a nice yummy soup to warm you up this fall? Well, this is definitely it. I am not a big soup fan, rarely eat anything but chicken noodle. (I know, I'm lame.) But I saw this recipe and I HAD to try it! It was as good as it sounded, better even. My husband LOVED it, and so did I! Hope you all love it too.

1/2 cube butter
2 teaspoons minced garlic (or 2 cloves)
1/2 c. flour
4 1/2 c. milk (I used 2%, but any kind will do)
1 (14 oz) can chicken broth
6 medium baking potatoes, baked
2 c. grated cheddar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 1/2 c. sour cream
1 bunch chopped green onion
1 package of bacon

Bake potatoes in oven on 300 for about 3 hours.
Melt butter in a stock pot over medium heat.
Add garlic and saute for 30-60 seconds until fragrant. Add flour to pan.
Slowly add milk a little at a time while whisking constantly to eliminate lumps.
Whisk until smooth and then add chicken broth.
Bring soup just to a simmer and heat until thickened, stirring often, about 5 minutes.
Once soup is thickened, turn heat down to medium-low.
Cut potatoes in half length-wise and use a spoon to scoop out potato flesh into the pot.
Use a spoon or whisk to smash potatoes, breaking up large clumps.
Add grated cheese and salt and pepper and stir until cheese is melted.
Remove pan from heat and stir in sour cream, green onions, and crumbled bacon. (Don't use all the onions, bacon and cheese.)
Add additional salt and pepper to taste.
Ladle into bowls and top each serving with the remaining onions, cheese, and bacon.

Happy Eating. Xoxoxoxo

Friendship-

I know, I've been totally MIA for like a month. Sorry, life just gets busy. But I'm back for a min. :)

- I have had some experiences in my life, as I'm sure you all have as well, and am just feeling the need to express my thoughts today. So bare with me..

In my life I have had the privilege of having some GREAT friends! Great friends! Some I've only just met recently, and some who have been through it all and back with me. I've unfortunately had some not so great experiences with friends. You see, I am a total push over. True story. I could never admit this; until now. Long story short- sometimes people took advantage of that fact, because well, I let them. I'm not saying I'm the perfect friend, far from it actually. I've just now finally realized that I can't fix everything, I am not perfect, I'm only human. I know that as hard as it is to admit, I can't hang on to everything, and try to make everything better. People grow up, and sadly they grow apart. The reason for this post is for me; for me to finally realize that it's okay to let go...

I have thee BEST Friends in the entire world and I'm so grateful for all of them in my life- they are truly so precious and special to me! I could not ask for better friends. I found this quote the other day- this is SO true for me-

" Those truly linked don't need correspondence. When they meet again after many years apart, their friendship is as true as ever."

-These quotes describe what I'm trying to say perfectly. :) Hope you all have some wonderful friends in your life too.

It's BACK!

Yes, that's right ladies and gents, my favorite show is back tonight! EEEK! I'm so excited! I'm in love with The Vampire Diaries. True Story. Even though I watch it alone most of the time and it scares the crapness out of me- I heart this show.

Awww... Stefan and Damon how I've missed you these past few months. Sigh. (Yes, my husband knows that I have crushes on both these hot men.) I'm not ashamed either- I mean who doesn't love these two?

If you haven't watched- Your missing out. :)

I'm also a bit intrigued about this show. The Secret Circle. It's the series premier tonight after My Vampire Diaries. It's about witches. I'm kinda a witch loving girl- I've always wanted to be a witch. Ha ha! So I think I might check this show out. Happy show watching- xoxoxoxo
